Mapped By A Forest are a musical duo from Edinburgh, Scotland, blending shoegaze, indie, and alternative music with deep melancholic lyrics. 

Formed in 2023, the band consists of Sam Morris (vocals, guitar) and Brian Philp (electric guitar, keys/synth). Inspired by bands like Frightened Rabbit, The Cocteau Twins, The Twilight Sad, Joy Division, and The Cure. 

They have released four singles and an EP, receiving airplay across the UK on local and national radio, including Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing. 

In late 2023, Herald Scotland included two of their songs in the Top 100 Scottish Songs of the Year. The final track of their debut EP was praised as a "head-spinning, glorious, showstopping finale" and placed at 70, while "Lost In Our Head," the B-side to their debut single "Bridges," was described as "spine-chilling lighters-in-the-air melancholy" and placed at 45.
